Assistant Controller | Real Estate, Private Equity | San Francisco| Hybrid, Very flexible
This is a standout opportunity to join a global real estate investment firm with a sophisticated, fast-moving platform and a strong reputation in institutional investing. You’ll step into a high-impact role where your work directly supports fund performance, deal activity, and investor outcomes .
This is not a back-office accounting role. You’ll be close to the action , partnering with investment professionals, asset management, and investor relations while owning critical pieces of the financial infrastructure. Expect visibility, ownership, and a clear path for growth in a firm that values strong operators.
Responsibilities
- Full scope fund accounting across multiple real estate investment entities
- Quarterly closes, financial reporting, audits, and technical accounting under GAAP and IFRS
- Cash management, capital calls/distributions, debt compliance, and waterfall modeling
- Direct partnership with investment, asset management, and investor relations teams
- Oversight of outsourced accounting teams with a focus on upgrading processes and controls
- Support for acquisitions, financings, valuations, and complex transaction activity
Requirements
- 6–12+ years in real estate private equity, fund accounting, & complex investment environments
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background
- Deep experience with fund structures and real estate accounting
- Yardi experience
- Public Accounting background, CPA and/or Master’s preferred (not required)
- Strong communicator
