Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent position in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. This role requires a valid Alaska RN license and involves night shifts.

Job Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Unit: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 9/14/26
• Location: Alaska

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 7
• Staffing: 4 night nurses currently on duty
• Patient Ratios: 1:3, variable based on census and acuity
• Equipment Used: GE fetal monitors, Panda warmers, IUPC, Kiwi vac., Koala IUPC
• Electronic Medical Records: Epic and CPN Connect
• On Call Requirements: 2 shifts on call per four-week schedule
• Weekend Requirements: 2 weekends, variable depending on staffing

Preferred Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following:

• Required:
  
  
  • Experience as an Operating Room (OR) circulator
  • Labor and delivery experience
• Preferred:
  
  
  • Ability to perform SVE, place IUPC and FSE
  • Experience as a stork nurse and transitioning babies at delivery

Typical Procedures

The unit performs a variety of procedures, including:

• Induction
• C-Section
• Vaginal delivery
• D&C
• Cerclage
• Versions
• Bilateral tubal ligation
• Triage
• Non-Stress Tests (NST)
• OB injections
• IV infusion
• Intrauterine Fetal Demise (IUFD) care

Work Environment

The work environment necessitates a flexible, cheerful, positive team player who is a quick learner, accountable, and adaptable. Mentorship abilities are advantageous.

Required Certifications

• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC-EFM Certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Additional Information

In this role, you may also be required to float to the Mom-Baby unit if necessary. Scrub attire will consist of hospital-provided royal blue scrubs, which can be changed on-site. Established unit policies include no elective deliveries before 39 weeks and adherence to various protocols for conditions such as hypertension and postpartum hemorrhage.
