Number of Positions: 1 Position Overview Impact Manager (IM) leads and develops a team of AmeriCorps members (ACMs) as idealistic, emerging leaders and practitioners focused on strengthening schools and supporting students to improve performance. Reporting to an Impact Director and working from a partner school(s), the IM plays a critical role in implementing City Year’s school-based Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) service model, mission, and practices. The IM is also an effective talent developer who will support AmeriCorps members through a challenging and rewarding year of service. Job Description Minimum Qualifications 3 years of experience in youth development, people management, education, or comparable experience Authorized documentation to work in the United States Ability to pass criminal background checks as required for working with school-age children Responsibilities The Impact Manager will perform the following roles and responsibilities as described below: Team Management Lead, manage, and coach a team of 18-25-year-olds completing a year of AmeriCorps service to achieve service impact with students and reach their leadership development potential. Monitor performance through consistent check-ins, clear expectations, and timely feedback to address challenges, balancing accountability with the developmental needs of early-career adults. Mentor student success coaches through career exploration and decision‑making, helping them clarify their post‑service goals and build skills and networks to pursue their next step. Ensure student success coaches successfully meet AmeriCorps service requirements, including service hours, documentation, and adherence to prohibited activities and program policies. Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that supports collaboration and belonging. Service Delivery & Impact Lead team in implementing City Year’s service model, including classroom support, individualized tutoring, schoolwide initiatives, extended learning time, and other supports aligned to school priorities. Coach team members to deliver differentiated tutoring and coaching for students in English-Language Arts, math, and interpersonal skills development. Use and interpret student- and program-level data to identify trends, guide coaching priorities, and inform decisions with school partners. Ensure accurate and timely collection and entry of service and student data. School Partner Management Serve as the primary liaison between City Year and the school, building strong relationships with principals, teachers, and staff to align service with school priorities and follow through on shared decisions. Participate in regular meetings with school leadership and partners to discuss progress, needs, and conditions for success. Collaboration & Learning Collaborate effectively with teammates to achieve sitewide goals and foster an inclusive environment. Contribute to corps member learning by leading or cofacilitating training sessions during start-of‑year onboarding and ongoing learning & development days. Reinforce centralized training through on‑the‑job coaching, reflection, and team learning activities. Role model a growth mindset and commitment to City Year’s culture and values as a leader within a youth-serving organization. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor to advance City Year’s mission. Working Conditions Works primarily on-site at 2 partner schools, with additional time spent at the City Year office for meetings, trainings, and team gatherings. Follows a schedule aligned with school-day hours (typically between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.), with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours for events, trainings, or service days. Require travel between multiple school sites within the district and occasional local travel for City Year events. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, youth-centered school environment, with a noise level that can range from moderate to high. Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (e.g., event supplies, training materials) up to ~20 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from school sites and office locations is required. [Requires a valid driver’s license for travel as part of job duties and/or ability and willingness to navigate public transit system.] Compensation The salary for this position is $54,000 annually. Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with internal equity practices.
