Housekeeping Supervisor

The Housekeeping Supervisor’s responsibilities include assigning tasks to the housekeeping staff, identifying and reporting cases of tardiness, and monitoring cleaning supplies. RESPONSIBILITIES Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met. Providing training to the housekeeping staff. Oversee staff daily. Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness. Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence. Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job. Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service. Respond to customer complaints and special requests. Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber gloves. Participate in large cleaning projects as required. Inform management of any equipment or furniture in need of repair. Screening housekeeping applicants and recommending promotions, transfers, and dismissals. Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas. Able to open and close the house when needed. Able to cover Room attendant/ houseman callouts if needed. Perform any other duties requested by Management. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 2 years of experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a Hotel or similar role. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations. Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products. Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and supplies. Excellent organizational and team management skills. Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. EDUCATION High School degree, GED or Equivalent. LANGUAGE SKILLS Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred). REASONING ABILITY Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners. Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
