Lead Loading, Shipping, and Receiving Associate 2nd Shift

The Shipping Lead supports the daily operations of the shipping department by coordinating workflow, directing team members, and ensuring windows and doors are accurately staged, loaded, and shipped to meet customer requirements. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the shipping team during assigned shifts, promoting safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery while maintaining inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating the daily activities of Loading, Shipping & Receiving Associates to ensure production schedules and customer delivery commitments are met. The role also involves assigning work, monitoring progress, verifying that finished products are properly labeled, staged, and loaded according to shipping documentation and customer specifications, inspecting loads to ensure product quality and secure packaging, and coordinating with Production, Quality, Customer Service, Sales, and Fleet teams to resolve shipping issues and prioritize urgent orders.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate shipping records, monitoring inventory accuracy, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, training and mentoring new employees, promoting and enforcing company safety policies, identifying process improvement opportunities, and assisting the Shipping Supervisor with daily reporting and departmental planning.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or manufacturing operations, strong understanding of shipping, inventory control, and warehouse processes, ability to read and interpret production schedules, shipping documents, and work orders, basic computer skills, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively across departments, demonstrated leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
