Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Observation Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 20-bed Observation Unit, primarily admitted from the Emergency Department for additional testing and monitoring to determine disposition
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias on-unit
• Administer blood products and manage central lines, peripheral lines, and PICC lines
• Implement heparin protocols and manage non-titratable cardiac drips
• Care for patients presenting with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Document all patient care accurately using Cerner ; wear navy blue scrubs per unit dress code

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Cardiac Telemetry and PCU/Stepdown experience required
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• On-unit telemetry monitoring experience required
• Blood product administration and central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management experience required
• Heparin protocol and non-titratable cardiac drip experience required
• CVA, seizure disorder, and substance withdrawal experience required
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG assessment required
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education required
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system required
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
