Compensation $75,000 - $85,000 annually Essential Skills And Experience Minimum 3 years of HR experience, or a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of HR experience is required, preferably in the hospitality industry Microsoft Office proficiency, HCM/HRIS experience is required. Solid knowledge of federal and state employment law is required. Experience working in a union-environment. To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated, organized, attentive to details, able to prioritize and have exceptional customer service skills. The ability to communicate ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely is critical. You should be diplomatic, approachable, and able to maintain confidentiality. You should be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, business partners, and management. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Essential Job Functions Offer disciplinary guidance to supervisors, manage employee complaints, conduct investigations, and provide coaching/conflict resolution when appropriate. Develop accurate, effective position descriptions for current and anticipated openings. Manage the recruiting and selection of candidates to ensure we are attracting, identifying and hiring the best possible team members. Manage HR administrative tasks, such as background checks, drug testing, onboarding, and benefits enrollment. Prepare and process biweekly payroll. As an HR subject matter expert, communicate benefit options, policies and procedures, and other vital information to employees in an engaging, timely and helpful manner. Partner with managers to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps, and build solutions to address these. Improve the quality and delivery of both performance reviews and regular feedback. Organize and conduct informative new hire orientations, brand training, and safety training that leave employees feeling secure in their decision to join us. Plan leadership and management development and training programs that support department goals and a succession planning processes. Contribute to team efforts by organizing team-building events (for leaders and hourly associates), employee recognition events, participating in daily departmental huddles, and facilitate the annual employee opinion survey. Adhere to and enforce all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook. Ensure that the hotel’s policies, procedures and practices comply with federal, state and local employment law. Establish and lead the community outreach and volunteer opportunities for the property (a minimum of one event per month). Serve as a rotational manager-on-duty (MOD), and occasionally assist other hotel departments as needed. Physical demands: The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity. The work requires the ability to speak clearly and to see and hear clearly with or without correction. Primary work is performed indoors in a standard office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is subject to inflexible deadlines. Employee may be subject to work beyond the normal scheduled work hours. Telework: As the primary point of contact for the employee experience, (onboarding, inquiries, performance management, engagement), it is essential that the Human Resources Manager work onsite. Therefore, the position does not lend itself to regular/standard telework or work from home opportunities. Occasional telework, or work-from-home opportunities may be available, in accordance with the Company’s Telework Policy.
