This role involves collaborating with the Director of Purchasing, pharmacy staff, vendors, and other departments to maintain optimal inventory levels and support the pharmacy's operational needs.**Key Responsibilities:*** **Purchasing Management:** + Oversee the procurement of medications, medical supplies, and pharmacy equipment. + Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. + Monitor market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.* **Inventory Control:** + Manage inventory levels, ensuring the availability of essential medications while minimizing excess stock. + Implement inventory management systems and practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency. + Conduct regular audits of inventory and reconcile discrepancies.* **Compliance and Quality Assurance:** + Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies related to purchasing and inventory management. + Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels for reporting and auditing purposes. + Collaborate with pharmacy staff to address any issues related to medication quality or supply disruptions.* **Team Leadership:** + Supervise and train purchasing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance. + Foster a collaborative environment among pharmacy and purchasing teams to improve workflow and communication. + Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.* **Collaboration and Communication:** + Work closely with pharmacy management, clinical staff, and other departments to forecast medication needs and optimize purchasing strategies. + Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and returns. + Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory status, and budget performance to management.**Qualifications:*** **Education:** High School Diploma or GED Required. Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.* **Experience:** Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy purchasing, inventory management, or a related area.* **Knowledge:** Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, purchasing, and inventory management.* **Skills:** + Excellent organization and time management. + Experience with pharmacy wholesale use. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Preference given to candidates with SureCost experience.* **Certifications:** Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent preferred.**Work Environment:*** This position typically works in a pharmacy setting.* May require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods. #J-18808-Ljbffr
