Clinical and Production Pharmacist

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and verify medication orders, ensuring their appropriateness and completeness for the specific age group served.
• Verify all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber or physician's agent.
• Oversee the safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of pharmaceutical care related to specialty products dispensed.
• Assess patients at the initiation of drug therapy, develop a patient care plan, and monitor patients according to the care plan throughout therapy.
• Communicate with patients, physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and therapy response.
• Compound intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals aseptically according to established guidelines and policies.
• Handle sterile and hazardous medications in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
• Provide indirect oversight of pharmacy technician and pharmacy support staff.
• Sign off on prescriptions and respond to emails supporting board of pharmacy requirements.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Current Oregon Pharmacist License.
• 1+ years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist preferred, open to entry-level candidates.
• Solid knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Word and Outlook.
• Ability to work flexible hours and rotate on-call duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with medication safety and data entry.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical care and prescription handling.

Work Environment:

Located in Bend, OR. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with on-call duties every other week. The team consists of three pharmacy technicians to provide support. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bend, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $44.09 - $78.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
