Full-time Veterinary Assistant Opportunity

Location: 560 Pacific Coast Hwy, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

Schedule: Full-time, 5x8-hour shifts

Salary: $17 - 23 per hour

Position available for a full-time, experienced Veterinary Assistant. Responsibilities require proficiency in Phlebotomy, IV Catheter Placement, low-stress handling, digital radiography, and administration of vaccines and medications. The ideal candidate will also possess great attendance, client communication skills, superior customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a great team atmosphere. Salary is based on experience and skills.

Essential Functions:

• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and record keeping
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care for hospitalized patients
• Client Relations
• Housekeeping/Maintenance

Qualifications:

• Must have documented previous Animal Hospital experience
• Animal Handling
• Anesthesia monitoring (Preferred but not required)
• Dentistry (Preferred, not required)
• Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties that will be expected in the job
• Must be friendly, outgoing, "People-oriented."
• Flexibility in hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Customer service skills, including Phone skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
