Open up opportunities with HPE.Job Description:Role Overview:We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong expertise in networking systems to join a high-performing engineering team building a leading SD-WAN platform.In this role, you will design and develop scalable, high-performance networking and security components, with a focus on routing, packet processing, and embedded systems. You will work on complex, real-world problems involving multi-core systems, distributed networking, and performance optimization.Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain packet processing and routing software componentsImplement and enhance routing protocol functionality and network control-plane featuresDevelop multi-threaded, high-performance software for embedded networking platformsBuild integrations with third-party networking and security modulesPrototype and validate new features for proof-of-concept and early-stage solutionsDebug and resolve complex networking and system-level issues, including performance bottlenecksCollaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, systems, product) to deliver production-ready featuresRequired Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in embedded or systems software developmentStrong programming skills in C (Python a plus)Experience building multi-threaded applications on Linux or similar systemsSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, L2/L3 concepts)Hands-on experience with packet processing systems or dataplane developmentStrong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skillsPreferred Qualifications: Experience with routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)Familiarity with Linux kernel networking and system-level internalsKnowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and SD-WAN architecturesExperience with high-performance and scalable systems designExposure to network security technologies (e.g., VPN, IPsec, firewalling)Experience in distributed systems or performance tuning in production environmentsWhat We Can Offer You:Health & WellbeingWe strive to provide our team members and their loved ones with a comprehensive suite of benefits that supports their physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.Personal & Professional DevelopmentWe also invest in your career because the better you are, the better we all are.
