PRIMARY PURPOSE:

\n

Assists the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store.

\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

\n

● In the absence of the Store Manager, supervises Sales Associates and assigns duties.
\n ● Ensures that the store is operating according to company policies/procedures and standards.
\n ● Assists the Store Manager in processing the daily paperwork.
\n ● Assists the Store Manager in conducting inventory, placing orders and processing merchandise as received.
\n ● Provides quality customer service by greeting each customer in a prompt and timely manner.
\n ● Performs cashiering duties according to the Island Mini-Mart (IMM) cash Policy.
\n ● Follows security and safety policies/procedures.
\n ● Checks in new merchandise in a timely manner.
\n ● Performs stocking and pricing duties.
\n ● Maintains a clean store environment by performing housekeeping duties.

\n

Daily Duties:

\n

● Performs Sales Associate duties.
\n ● Ensures that the store is operating according to company policies/procedures and standards.
\n ● Supervises Sales Associates and assigns duties.
\n ● Assists in the processing of daily paperwork
\n ● Assists in conducting inventory, placing orders and processing merchandise received.

\n

● Required to utilize PDI and other work-related software systems on computer to complete daily paperwork, reporting and processing and receiving orders as needed. Aloha/Sunoco’s Cyber Security policies are to be always adhered to while completing computer work.

\n

Periodic Duties:

\n

● Conducts weekly Price Surveys of competition.
\n ● Attends monthly Manager’s Meeting in the Absence of the Store Manager.
\n ● Attends and participates in monthly store meetings.

\n

Occasional Duties:

\n

● Covers a Sales Associate shift if necessary.
\n ● Completes price changes as needed.
\n ● Assist other stores as assigned.
\n ● Performs other duties as assigned.
\n ● Work at other store locations.

\n

\n

WORKING CONDITIONS:

\n

● Works indoors under regular store conditions.
\n ● Works outdoors under regular weather conditions as needed.

\n

Equipment use:

\n

● Use of the cash register, gas console, and safe.
\n ● Use of coffee maker; roller-grill, cappuccino machine, microwave, oven, fryer, upright steamer, nacho machine, food warmer, granita machine, adding machine, and other devices for heating and reheating food and beverages
\n ● Use of pricing gun, overhead cigarette racks, fast food equipment and cleaning supplies.
\n ● Use of calculator, computer; VCR, file cabinets; cigarette lockers.
\n ● Use of personal vehicle to perform company business. 
\n ● Hooking up C02 soda fountain air pressure dispenser tank, and BIB Bag-In-A-Box syrup dispensers.

\n

Work Hours:

\n

● Sunday-Saturday availability
\n ● Scheduled to work a minimum of 5 days and 40 hrs per week; all additional hours needed to maintain standards and adequate staffing, and avoid overtime; various shifts.
\n ● Covers Store Managers day off (6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) schedule may vary by location.
\n ● On-call to work varied work shifts (i.e. day, night, swing, or graveyard) as necessary.
\n ● Extended hours as assigned.

\n

MENTAL DEMANDS:

\n

● Continuously requires attention to detail, concentration, and alertness. 
\n ● Frequently requires use of mathematical skills.
\n ● Good judgment and the ability to make appropriate decisions with minimal lead time, to ensure store operations (in relation to customers, staff, vendors, etc.) run smoothly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

\n

● Continuous standing for extended periods, handling, fingering and use of corrected vision and wide field of vision.
\n ● Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, reaching; use of eye-hand-foot coordination, depth perception; pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. of merchandise cartons.
\n ● Seldom requires sitting, running, use of color vision.

\n

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

\n

● Continually talks to customers/clients, and meets request of customers.
\n ● Frequently talks to co-workers, meets requests of co-workers, and receives instructions.
\n ● Occasionally talks to outside trade persons/vendors, supervises others, meets requests of vendors, and trains/gives instructions.
\n ● Assists in applicant hiring process.
\n ● Coaches employees and uses progressive counseling process as indicated.
\n ● Regularly talks on the telephone, writes/composes written language and reads.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

\n

Skills/Knowledge:

\n

● Requires mathematical ability for proper cash handling and to process daily paperwork.
\n ● Ability to supervise staff and coordinate work assignments.
\n ● Ability to prioritize work duties and assignments.
\n ● Ability to provide prompt, friendly and quality customer service.
\n ● Ability to perform stock/inventory duties.

Education/Training: \n

● High School Diploma or equivalent.
\n ● Successfully completes Sales Associates Training Class.
\n ● On the job training provided by the Store Manager.
\n ● On the job computer training.
\n ● Valid driver’s license required.

\n

Experience:

\n

● 1 – 2 years experience in customer service.
\n ● 1 – 2 years experience in cash handling.
\n ● 1 – 2 years experience in supervisory skills.

\n
