  • Develop clear, accurate, and buildable construction details that demonstrate a strong understanding of how buildings are assembled.

  • Support the production of institutional, educational, and public transportation projects, ensuring consistency with project standards and client requirements.

  • Contribute to 3D presentations and visualizations that effectively communicate design intent to clients and project teams.

  • Collaborate in an open studio environment, sharing ideas and feedback with colleagues of varying experience levels.

  • Work independently and proactively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all project documentation.

  • Engage in problem solving during design and construction phases, addressing technical issues and coordinating solutions with the broader project team.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including licensure preparation, and work toward taking on responsibility for managing your own projects over time.

Essential Skills

  • 3-10 years of experience working in an architectural office.

  • Demonstrated public project experience, including work with K-12, public housing authorities, school construction authorities, transit agencies, and similar public entities.

  • Strong 3D presentation, production, and technical skills.

  • Experience producing construction drawings and details for institutional, educational, and public transportation projects.

  • Motivated, independent, accurate, and cooperative approach to work, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and reliability in meeting deadlines and project commitments.

  • Degree in Architecture.

  • Experience working with agencies such as NJ Transit, NYCHA, SCA, Port Authority, and similar public transportation and public sector clients.

  • Experience with construction administration, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and supporting field coordination, is beneficial.

  • Interest in public transportation, institutional, and educational projects.

  • Desire to pursue architectural licensure, with interest in leveraging firm resources such as study guides and mentorship.

  • Interest in growing into a project leader role and eventually managing your own projects.

  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a highly interactive, open studio environment.

Work Environment

The firm operates from two office locations in Sparta, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, functioning as a single integrated studio of approximately 20-25 employees in each location. The offices are converted residential buildings-a home and a townhouse-designed as open studio spaces with shared work areas instead of private offices or cubicles. Team members at all levels, including leadership, sit together in open, collaborative spaces, encouraging constant communication, idea sharing, and mutual learning. Employees with varied experience levels work side by side to promote mentorship and professional growth. The role offers remote work flexibility, with an expectation to be in the office two days per week and the option to work remotely three days per week. Work is heavily focused on public transportation projects, with approximately 90% of assignments coming from public transportation agencies and other public sector clients. Projects are located throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, and travel to and from job sites is required as needed. The environment emphasizes collaboration, professional development, and support for licensure, including access to study guides, paid exam benefits, and a defined path to becoming a project leader. Paid overtime is provided when extra work is required, and the firm offers competitive time off, including three weeks of paid time off at the start and 11-12 paid holidays, contributing to a balanced and supportive workplace.
