Registered Nurse In Critical Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred. License: RN License in the state of Texas or compact. Certifications: Current BLS certification required. Must-Have: Current ACLS certification required. Description: The Registered Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitors for side effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial onboarding requirements are validated. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary.
