DSPs help individuals participate in activities, develop new skills, and become more independent.Your responsibilities may include:Supporting individuals with daily routines and Activities of Daily LivingTeaching and reinforcing skills such as cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, and household tasksHelping individuals participate in community activities and outingsEncouraging independence and supporting personal choicesAssisting individuals in working toward goals outlined in their support plansProviding appropriate support to promote health and safetyBuilding positive relationships while maintaining professional boundariesEncouraging individuals to develop social, communication, and independent living skillsSupporting each individual with dignity, respect, and self-determinationYou May Be a Great Fit If You Are:At least 18 years oldDependable and responsiblePatient, compassionate, and willing to learnComfortable working independently as well as part of a teamA strong communicator with good organizational skillsInterested in working with individuals with disabilitiesLooking to gain experience in psychology, education, social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, or a related fieldA high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required. Previous caregiving or human services experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidates.RequirementsValid driver's licenseReliable transportationSuccessful completion of required criminal background clearancesAbility to provide physical assistance when necessaryPhysical RequirementsDSPs may occasionally need to assist individuals with standing, walking, transferring, or other forms of mobility support.
