Industrial Controls Electrician (Manufacturing)

CONSOL Energy

Job Description

Job Description

A day in the life — West Finley, PA

You start with a quick safety huddle, then head to the production floor to keep advanced manufacturing equipment powered, protected, and performing. Morning might mean tracing a fault through a control panel, reading schematics, and restoring a line to service. Midday, you could tune a PLC, verify I/O, and document the change for future reference. When a piece of equipment shows a mechanical symptom, you partner with maintenance to diagnose it end-to-end. Throughout the shift, you log your work, collaborate across departments, and share know-how with junior team members and apprentices.

What you'll handle
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues across plant equipment and facility systems.
  • Apply mechanical troubleshooting to pinpoint and resolve equipment problems quickly.
  • Program, adjust, and maintain PLCs to sustain peak uptime and product quality.
  • Work closely with operations and maintenance to elevate safety and efficiency.
  • Keep clear, accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Follow all safety rules and applicable industry standards without exception.
  • Assist with training and mentoring developing team members.
What you bring
  • Hands-on experience as an electrician; manufacturing background preferred.
  • Expertise in electrical troubleshooting with strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical diagnostic ability for a variety of plant assets.
  • Practical experience with PLC programming and upkeep.
  • Comfort working both independently and within a team setting.
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Relevant electrical certifications or licenses are a plus.
  • Live and champion Core Natural Resources’ core values—Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous Improvement.
Schedule and physical demands
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Capable of working on a rotating shift schedule.
  • Communicate clearly and work safely, solo or with a team.
  • Per the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, this role is in the heavy category and requires the ability to lift, carry, push/pull, climb, shovel, walk, pry, work on/near moving equipment, and perform any job-specific tasks tied to your assignment.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.
