Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse - $2,020 per week

Job Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Employment Type: Travel. Start Date: 06/09/2026. Duration: 12 weeks. Weekly Hours: 40 hours (10‑hour night shifts). Pay: Based on 10‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation); tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. Responsibilities Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients. Provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education to patients. Work as a circulating OR nurse outside of the sterile field, or as a scrub OR nurse handling instruments within the sterile field, or as an RN first assistant delivering direct surgical care. Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication; report any adverse reactions to treatment. Serve as the communication liaison between patients’ family members and the operating team. Ensure that the correct procedure(s) is being performed on the correct patient. Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs. As a circulating OR nurse: respond to comfort and safety needs; handle specimens accurately; monitor equipment used during surgery; maintain inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure. As a scrub OR nurse: select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures; maintain inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure. As an RN first assistant: assist physicians with direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients following surgery. Qualifications 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant. ACLS, BLS, PALS certification; at least 2 years of nursing experience. Additional certifications may be required before the assignment. Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds routinely, and up to 50 pounds when necessary. Good understanding of hazards from exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases in the operating room.
