Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a Field Services Technician to provide desktop and end-user support within a state government environment in Eastern Kentucky. This is a long-term opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys working directly with users to resolve technical issues and maintain technology operations. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical troubleshooting abilities with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite and remote desktop support for end users in a Windows-based environment.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Support and troubleshoot Windows 11 operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, including break/fix support.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity support.
- Respond to user requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Document support activities, resolutions, and technical issues as required.
- Maintain a high level of customer service while supporting users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Travel to supported locations as needed to provide hands-on technical assistance.
- Lift and transport computer equipment and work in various environments as required.
- 1-2+ years of desktop support experience in a professional environment.
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop hardware and software.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, particularly Windows 11.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
- Basic network troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience supporting users in an enterprise environment.
- Experience providing field services or onsite technical support.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop effective technical solutions.
- Strong desire to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
- Onsite position supporting government offices throughout Eastern Kentucky.
- Frequent interaction with end users requiring both technical expertise and customer service excellence.

This is a Contract position based out of Flemingsburg, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
