Director of Nursing Services- Registered Nurse

Hold overall accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care. Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON): Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel including nurses, medication aides, certified nursing assistants, and nursing aides in training Guide staffing procedures Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards Control budgets and monitor expenditures within the department, including supplies and payroll Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed by completing performance improvement plans Manage record-keeping procedures Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations Report directly to the Administrator Qualifications of the Director of Nursing (DON): Maintains a current/unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina A passion for working with seniors. 1+ years of nursing management in the long-term care industry with the experience to include hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision. Experience tracking, trending, and analyzing infection control and other clinical data. Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel. Great communication and people skills, including keeping a good rapport with surrounding hospitals and organizations. Outstanding organizational and stress management skills. Willingness to monitor changing standards in nursing administration with strong knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
