McElroy WeldersMcElroy Welders work at our Admiral facility where components are produced in a climate-controlled facility. Welders must have proven experience and success fit welding parts that adhere to schematics and blueprints. Welders use precision measuring equipment frequently to conduct meticulous first article inspection to ensure parts are as accurate as possible. They are able to read, interpret, and act on requirements and specifications of blueprints to layout parts on their weld tables. Welders may work with a variety of metals and will need to know the appropriate welding techniques utilizing processes such as MIG, TIG, and Fluxcore.The opening for 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 4:30pm - 3am. All 2nd shift employees receive 11.5% shift premium on all hours worked.Work ExperienceMIGTIGFluxcoreAbility to meet quality standardsAbility to meet production scheduleAbility to wear proper PPE and meet safety standardsAbility to work 2nd shiftBasic skills can be demonstrated in Microsoft Word and Excel.2+ years of experience preferredOwn or willing to purchase the minimum set of tools required for job and a locking toolbox.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentGenerally, 95% of the normal work shift requires standing bending, squatting, and climbing while running production, inspecting work and machines, and checking procedures. Climbing into, or onto some machines is required to evaluate how a part, or fixturing is progressing. Job requires moving of material and parts weighing up to 70 pounds. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines. Welders must wear protective shirts, and sometimes leather protective vests, and gloves.Safety-Sensitive Designation: Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety-sensitive. This position is safety-sensitive because, in addition to the essential functions, it also involves performing one or more of the following essential tasks or duties:The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materialThe operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery or power toolsRepairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damageThe operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including, but not limited to, electric, gas, and water utilities, power generation or distribution.The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component.
