Position Title: Housekeeper Department/School: Housekeeping, Physical Plant Salary/Pay Rate: $23.03 - $27.10 Job Summary: The Physical Plant at Marist University seeks applicants for aHousekeeper. Housekeepers perform professional custodial dutieswhich include cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings,furniture and fixtures within academic, administrative, anddormitory facilities. Minimum Qualifications: Six months of professional custodial experience. Institutional housekeeping experience and the ability to cleanwith attention to detail. Essential Functions: Operates and maintains all cleaning equipment Strips, wet mops, dust mops, and waxes floors Washes walls, windows, glass partitions, and blackboards Maintains and cleans washrooms Polishes furniture and fixtures Moves furniture from building to building as needed Sets up and rearranges rooms for special events/functions Removes all trash and other rubbish Maintains recycling equipment Vacuums and shampoos carpets Removes and installs curtains/draperies Receives and stores 55-gallon drums, paper supplies, and otherhousekeeping supplies Responsible for assuring that areas found locked on arrival arelocked on departure Responsible for the safekeeping and preservation ofhousekeeping equipment Responsible for reporting equipment damaged or lost Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor Preferred Qualifications: Cleaning experience in hospitals, nursing homes, residentialhousing, hotels, large facility/multi-use buildings,office/conference space and classroom/lecture space. Experiencewith sustainable practices preferred.
