Production Operations

Job TitleShift: 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be available or required according to business needs.Location: McPherson, KSResponsibilitiesSet up machines and prepare materials for jobs.Complete material requisitions accurately.Produce parts to quality standards using appropriate equipment.Enter time and labor reporting daily.Handle materials, tools, and equipment manually or with a jib crane.Layout, cut, and fit parts as required for welding.Fabricate new metal components in accordance with product data sheets.Solve problems and develop innovative solutions while maintaining safety and performance standards.Maintain tools and equipment to professional standards and keep the workstation clean and orderly.Coordinate workflow with team members and third-party agents.Maintain high quality standards as determined by quality and engineering standards.Manage workflow, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot problems daily, in addition to fabrication duties.Employ physical strength and endurance to complete all machining tasks.Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions.Interface with engineering to communicate information accurately.Participate in continuous improvement activities as required.Adhere to Quality Management System Requirements.Follow and maintain 5S activities.RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 3 years of experience in a custom build shop preferred.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Ability to operate a computer to read and input data.Ability to operate hand tools and read measuring devices.Ability to read and interpret 3D prints/schematics to complete standard work.Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours per day.Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.Frequent standing and repetitive use of hands; occasional bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, and pushing/pulling required.Preferred SkillsAbility to communicate effectively with team members and management.Ability to hold oneself accountable for results.Mechanical aptitude.Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems.
