Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a hybrid position with a Major Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role will be part of a Data Strategy team supporting a large-scale digital transformation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and developing a strategic data platform on Microsoft Azure, initially focusing on reference data for securities and pricing. This position requires active development in close coordination with internal teams to contribute to the overall data strategy agenda.

Responsibilities:

• Support the design and development of a strategic data platform
• Engage in the active development of the data platform on the Azure Cloud Platform
• Establish a reference data system for securities and pricing data, later expanding to other data domains
• Follow internal development standards to contribute to the agenda of the Data Strategy team

Requirements:

• 10+ years of relevant experience as a full stack Python/PySpark developer
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with experience in Azure cloud
• Experience implementing solutions using Azure cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Lake Gen 2, Azure Databases, Azure Data Fabric, API Gateway management, and Azure Functions
• Well versed with Azure Databricks
• Strong SQL skills with RDMS or noSQL databases
• Experience with developing APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks in Python
• Familiarity with the DevOps lifecycle (git, Jenkins, etc.) and CI/CD processes
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT processes

Desired skills:

• Experience in the financial services industry, financial instruments, asset classes and market data

Pay range: up to $81.72 per hour
