Communicates with staff physicians and other staff employees regarding patient’s specimen. Works with management personnel to ensure efficient and technically correct systems and procedures in the laboratory that includes QA/QC of reagents, instrumentation, proficiency testing, etc.# **Key Performance Areas*** Prepare and process specimens for testing using CAP acceptable methods and standards.* Reviews the daily technical systems for assurance of quality and efficiency.* Perform tests according to approved policies and procedures for all phases of testing; pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic, as well as general laboratory specimens.* Assures instruments and reagents are within quality parameters.* Participates in laboratory research and development projects as needed and as time permits.* Responsible for inventory and ordering of supplies.* Exercises all precautions when handling hazardous chemicals that are irritating to mucous membranes and the skin.* Assist with revising laboratory documents including policies, procedures, and forms.* Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.* Will be expected to work at any Company location to help meet the Company’s business needs.* Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patient rights, safety, billing, human resources and collections.
