Sr. Director of Product

Position Summary Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and strategic Senior Director of Product to lead the continued growth and evolution of its rapidly expanding direct-to-consumer streaming platform. This role serves as the product leader responsible for defining and executing CHSN's product vision, roadmap, and operational strategy while delivering a best-in-class viewing experience for fans across all digital platforms. As a player-coach, the Senior Director of Product will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing day-to-day product operations, platform performance, and the successful delivery of more than 300 live streamed events annually. The role will lead product innovation, implement customer acquisition and engagement initiatives, and partner closely with Technology, Production, Marketing, Distribution, and Customer Experience teams to enhance platform capabilities and business outcomes. The Senior Director of Product will also serve as the primary liaison for technology vendors and strategic partners, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of CHSN's streaming ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader with deep experience in digital products, streaming media, and cross-functional team leadership who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional fan experiences. Key Responsibilities Collaborate closely with senior leaders to shape and execute the long-term product vision and strategy, aligning business objectives, audience growth priorities, and evolving market opportunities Own and oversee day-to-day product operations, driving the execution, performance, reliability, and continuous enhancement of a streaming platform supporting more than 300 live events annually. Lead the development and implementation of new product features, platform enhancements, and operational improvements to elevate the user experience, increase audience engagement, and drive subscriber and viewership growth. Partner with senior leadership to define, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap in alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market trends. Serve as the primary relationship manager for technology vendors and strategic partners, overseeing the end-to-end product ecosystem, including vendor evaluation, selection, contract management, and performance optimization. Lead cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Production, Content, Marketing, Distribution, and Customer Experience teams to deliver a seamless and best-in-class streaming experience. Use customer insights, analytics, competitive intelligence, and industry trends to inform product decisions, identify growth opportunities, and enhance platform performance. Lead and develop a team of product professionals responsible for platform reliability, stream quality, customer experience, and support operations, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Establish, monitor, and communicate key product performance metrics and KPIs, providing actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership. Own key business metrics related to product performance, customer acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and streaming reliability. Oversee the escalation, troubleshooting, and resolution of critical platform issues and customer-impacting incidents, ensuring timely communication and minimal service disruption. Lead major platform launches, strategic partnerships, and high-priority initiatives that advance organizational growth, audience expansion, and competitive positioning. Manage product budgets, resource allocation, and vendor investments to maximize operational efficiency and business outcomes. Present product strategy, roadmap updates, performance insights, and investment recommendations to executive leadership and other key stakeholders. Champion innovation by identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, consumer behaviors, and industry trends within the sports media and streaming landscape. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience 10+ years of progressive product management experience, including ownership of product strategy, roadmap development, and product lifecycle management. Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, project management and product road mapping tools, and customer support platforms such as Freshdesk. Working knowledge of web development concepts, with the ability to customize and maintain websites using established templates strongly preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong understanding of the sports media and streaming industry, including associated technical, operational, and production workflows. Passion for Chicago sports and familiarity with the local sports landscape is a plus. This position requires an in-person presence and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support business and operational needs. Final compensation will be influenced by factors such as the candidate’s skills, relevant experience, degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market conditions, and the position’s location.
