Position Summary

The Dishwasher position is a part-time role responsible for supporting kitchen operations and promoting the Hoffman Estates Park District and Poplar Creek Country Club. This position ensures the coordination and cleanliness of food service operations for the restaurant, bar, banquets, weddings, and golf outings, meeting the expectations of all guests.

Supervision Received

All work is performed under the direct supervision of the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean all plates, glasses, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

• Maintain personal cleanliness and wear proper uniform, including a hat.

• At the start of each shift, inspect soap, sanitizer, and salt containers to ensure they are full.

• Inspect all washed items for food buildup, lipstick, or residue before returning to storage.

• Properly rack glasses and return them to storage or the bar area.

• Change water in the upstairs dish machine during busy shifts.

• Keep all pots and pans organized and free of clutter.

• Maintain both dishwashing areas in a clean and organized condition.

• During slow periods, dishwashers are required to:

  • Check the cleaning schedule and complete assigned tasks; or

  • Assist with food preparation as directed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Customer Service

• Greet guests in a friendly manner when necessary.

• Be courteous and respectful at all times.

Safety, Health, and Loss Control

• Support, promote, and make recommendations regarding all safety, health, and loss control policies adopted by the Park District.

• Be familiar with and adhere to the Employee Safety Manual.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation.
• Valid Illinois Drivers License.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
