Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12.0

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Our focus is on maintaining a safe environment for both patients and employees while ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, while ensuring effective delegation of tasks.
• Promote personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit dynamics and support team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Prioritize activities and manage time effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• Experience in PCU/Critical Care or Step-Down units is preferred.
