Site Carpenter - Vertical Solutions

Full-Time | $25–$30/hour | Shop & Job Sites in and around Salt Lake County

You take pride in a tight joint, a clean install, and a finished space that looks like it was meant to be there. At Vertical Solutions, you'll bring that craftsmanship to custom builds from the shop floor all the way to the client's front door.

Vertical Solutions is a Salt Lake–based build team that designs, fabricates, and installs custom interiors for climbing and fitness facilities. Our crews build wood accent walls, custom furniture, lockers, cubbies, and the climbing structures they surround, and every piece is made to match the look of the whole project. We're a hands-on group of tradespeople who care about getting the details right.

As a full-time Site Carpenter, you'll earn $25–$30/hour working between our company shop and customer job sites in and around Salt Lake County. In the shop, you'll pre-build and assemble custom pieces so they're ready to go. On site, you'll install them, assemble wall structures, and make sure everything fits and finishes cleanly. No two weeks look exactly the same.

• Build, assemble, and install custom woodwork like accent walls, furniture, lockers, and cubbies, matching the style of each project
• Pre-build and assemble components in our shop so installs go smoothly and efficiently on site
• Install finished pieces and assemble on customer job sites
• Pitch in on the full build: wood and steel structures, and scaffolding setup
• Work at heights using lifts and harnesses, following fall protection and rope access safety standards
• Read printed and digital plans, estimate materials and equipment, and run quality checks before calling a job done
• Operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools, shop equipment, and heavy machinery safely
• Keep the shop and job site clean and organized using 5S, and wear the right PPE every time
• Log your time and materials accurately each day
• Represent the team professionally when you're working in front of clients
• Start your day at the shop, by grabbing a company vehicle, or by heading straight to the site, then get to work on your own

You might be a great fit if you have:

• 5+ years of professional experience in construction or carpentry
• Experience building and installing custom woodwork such as accent walls, furniture, lockers, or cubbies (a big plus)
• A sharp eye with plans, measuring tools, and materials
• The self-drive to work independently and unsupervised, both in the shop and on site
• A professional, friendly presence with clients and a habit of solving problems before they turn into issues
• Clear communication with your foreman, crew, vendors, and clients
• A love for checklists and systems that keep work consistent and organized
• The ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly, stay on your feet all day, work at heights, and work in all kinds of weather

• Paid time off
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life, short-term disability, long-term disability, and accident coverage
• 401(k) retirement plan
• Company vehicles for job site travel
• Free gym membership at The Front
• Discounts on food and merchandise
• A steady mix of shop builds and field installs that keeps the work varied
