Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN with Epic charting experience and at least 2 years of ICU experience for a Level 3 Trauma Center in a 13-week assignment.

Details

• ICU setting within an acute care hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center
• Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to Med Surg (1:5 ratio) or ER depending on census
• Epic EMR experience required
• Common diagnoses/procedures include CRRT, cardiac surgery/CABG with hemodynamic monitoring, respiratory failure requiring vent management, DKA, and altered mental status
• Manages multiple drips and central line setup/management, arterial lines, and CVP monitoring

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Recent Epic charting experience required within the past year
• Minimum of one successful travel assignment required with no performance or attendance issues
• Basic dysrhythmia training required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction required
• One reference required from a Manager or Unit Supervisor within the past year in a relevant specialty

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing complex ICU cases such as post-cardiac surgery, CVA/stroke management, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Facility has a zero-fault attendance policy where any missed shift is considered unexcused, with warnings issued after 2 missed shifts and possible cancellation after 3
• Scrub color varies by unit
• Free parking available
• Pre-start completion of required training modules is mandatory
• Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed during the 13-week assignment, with no holidays included and no additional time off granted after submission
• No block or special scheduling requests accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as a traveler or permanent employee must disclose this information
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
