Overview Burlington, NJ — Patient Services Rep. Job ID 69427 • Job Type: Full Time • Shift: Day • Specialty: Clerical/Administrative. Apply Responsibilities Greets patients and guests using AIDET while providing an individualized, excellent patient service experience. Provides patient support and keeps informed of delays. Takes action including offering alternatives. Performs all registration functions including full registration and updating/validating demographics, identification, insurance information and completing verification and obtaining signatures. Conducts patient outreach for messages received in front desk pool, MyChart messaging, and confirmation calls. Utilizes kiosks, tablets and other technology to assist patients upon arrival (meet the patient where they are). Requires ability to stand and walk for periods of time (2–8 hours per shift). Schedules appointments, including follow-up appointments for patients in a high-service environment across the healthcare continuum (physician office visits, imaging, lab post-visit, and during patient outreach). Collects co-pays and outstanding balances. Reviews and reconciles cash drawer daily. Performs non-clinical administrative duties, including in-basket and telephone communication, documentation in medical record, obtaining reports and medical records, completing insurance and/or disability forms, precertification and/or authorizations, referrals and workqueues (e.g., patient registration, referrals). Documents patient outreach and call backs for messages received in pool, MyChart messaging and confirmation calls. Supports organizational responsibilities, respects/promotes patient rights, responds to emergencies, and communicates with multidisciplinary teams while upholding Mission, Vision and Values and Code of Ethical Conduct. Maintains knowledge of regulatory standards and adheres to them in daily operations. Maintains flexibility and multitasks in a fast-paced environment; may work at other Ambulatory offices based on volume. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications Experience Minimum one year of recent registration or billing experience in a medical facility (preferred). Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals (preferred). Epic experience (preferred). Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Education High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Licensure/Certification NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification (preferred). Special Requirements Customer service-oriented attitude with a pleasant and poised demeanor and excellent phone etiquette. Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills. Compensation Hourly Rate Min: $18 Hourly Rate Max: $29 The New Jersey Pay Transparency Act requires disclosure of the pay range for this position. A salary offer will vary based on job role, candidate experience, qualifications, internal pay equity and market data.
