Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact RN license and 2+ years of ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric populations
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility experience preferred
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required to any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience administering continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain/spinal cord injury
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and ortho trauma

Additional Information

• Must pass a Pass/Fail compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed, required for all RNs regardless of specialty
• Must work 2 out of 4 major holidays with minimal holiday RTO
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
