DSS is hiring for a purchasing role in Waco, TX - manages material buyouts, negotiates vendor pricing, and oversees supply chain operations for construction and insulation projects.
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
$25/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Material Buyouts: Run material buyouts on awarded projects and set pricing standards for smaller jobs.
- Supplier Management: Build relationships with distributors and manufacturers while negotiating master agreements.
- Risk Management: Monitor supply chain concerns, lead times, and potential shortages to build contingency plans.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of purchases, contracts, pricing, and vendor communications for audits.
- Team Support: Serve as a resource or mentor for buyers and purchasing assistants across company branches.
Position Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (preferably in construction or industrial distribution).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with construction ERP systems like Viewpoint Vista.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical insulation, safety supplies, scaffolding, and rental equipment.
