Maintenance Supervisor

Summary

The incumbent serves as a WS-10 Maintenance Supervisor within the Facilities Management Service, Engineering Branch at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations across all nine sites of care throughout the healthcare system and will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, planning, coordination and directing of a variety of maintenance, minor construction and operational concerns.

Duties

The incumbent will perform the following duties as assigned:

• Serves as a working supervisor responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all structural and maintenance systems across nine Orlando VA Locations.
• Assigns work orders, prioritizes tasks, and ensures timely completion of preventative maintenance, repairs and special projects.
• Research and gathers information for parts and supplies, performs material take-offs, and submits material requests to the M&O Foreman.
• Inspects facilities, shops and equipment regularly to ensure safety and operational readiness.
• Manages an equipment inventory of over 16,000 items.
• Plans and schedules work assignments.
• Determines whether projects are completed in-house or requires contracting.
• Analyzes work schedules, manpower availability, tooling material requirements and methods to be used.
• Prepares annual budget estimates for all field operations.
• Performs a full range of administrative and supervisory personnel functions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM or Sunday to Thursday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM or Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Note : A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
