HR Supervisor

HR SupervisorA rapidly expanding logistics organization is seeking a bilingual Human Resources Supervisor to support a high-volume warehouse operation in the greater Chicago region. This role is highly visible, hands-on, and deeply integrated with daily facility activity, partnering closely with operations leadership to strengthen workforce stability, drive compliance, and support a diverse hourly workforce.The facility currently supports 100 employees and growing. The HR Supervisor will support both the 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM shift start times, ensuring consistent HR coverage, employee relations support, and workforce engagement across the operation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead full-cycle recruitment for hourly warehouse roles, forklift operators, sanitation, and clerical staff.Conduct new-hire orientations, safety briefings, and facility walk-throughs.Manage local job fairs, workforce development partnerships, and community outreach.Coordinate seasonal hiring spikes and contingent labor needs.Provide guidance to supervisors on coaching, conflict resolution, and corrective action.Consistently administer company policies including attendance, safety protocols, and drug-testing procedures.Investigate workplace complaints, grievances, or safety incidents with confidentiality and neutrality.Maintain strong daily presence across both shifts to support employee relations and workforce stability.Oversee daily time and attendance tracking across two shifts.Manage shift differentials, overtime control, and weekly payroll preparation.Partner with operations leads to adjust schedules based on volume and labor needs.Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, food-safety standards, and facility compliance requirements.Track and report workplace injuries, workers' compensation claims, and safety training records.Support safety committees, audits, and corrective action plans.Administer performance evaluation cycles and maintain HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, time-to-fill).Drive employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and open-door communication.Support leadership development for supervisors and frontline managers.Qualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent hands-on HR experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment).Experience2 - 3+ years as an HR Generalist or HR Supervisor.Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, or logistics, strongly preferred.Comfort working in a multi-shift, high-volume environment.Skills & KnowledgeBilingual - Spanish requiredWorking knowledge of employment law (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA basics).Experience with HRIS, ATS, and timekeeping systems (Kronos, ADP, or similar).Ability to operate in a matrixed reporting structure and partner with both corporate HR and local operations.Strong communication, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.Culture & EnvironmentFast-moving, hands-on operational environment.High visibility on the warehouse floor across both shifts.Collaborative, non-hierarchical structure.Focus on workforce stability, safety, and operational consistency.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
