Job Summary

The Material Handler supports production by preparing, handling, and moving product to meet customer specifications while following all safety, sanitation, and quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain personal, equipment, and work area sanitation in compliance with GMPs and safety standards
• Remove product from original packaging (debox/unwrap)
• Inspect and clean product as needed
• Weigh product when applicable
• Operate cutters, lifting equipment, and manual pallet trucks
• Move product between production lines
• Pack, seal, tag, and organize trim
• Organize trim barrels onto pallets and scan pallets to assigned locations
• Track and organize raw packing materials
• Review order specifications and perform quality checks
• Communicate quality, safety, and order specification issues to line personnel
• Accurately complete production reports and data entry
• Use handheld scanners and systems for tracking and reporting
• Productively use downtime to support operations
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and food quality programs
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
• Ability to rotate across all bulk production lines
• Ability to make basic decisions using standard procedures
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to read, understand, and complete production reports
• Strong communication skills related to quality and safety

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP experience
• MES experience

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking
• Frequent bending, reaching, gripping, lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment
• Work environment averages 5060F
• Required use of PPE such as hair nets, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety glasses
• May operate tow motors or other motorized equipment in tight spaces
