Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Coverage: Call Only
Practice Setting: Inpatient
EMR: Paragon

Schedule / Call:

• Beeper call
• 20-minute response time
• 1:1 call ratio
• Approximately 5 phone consults per 24 hours
• Approximately 3 8 patients seen and admissions during call
• Call covers both patient care and admissions

Patient Volume:

• 16-bed pediatric department
• Approximately 2 5 patients per shift

Support:

• 3 RNs
• 1 MA
• No APP supervision required

Requirements:

• Board Eligible accepted
• NC medical license or IMLC
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• ABLS

Clinical Skills:

• Pediatric and newborn ventilation management
• Pediatric/newborn intubation
• Central and arterial lines
• UVC/UAC
• Lumbar puncture
• Paracentesis
• Thoracentesis
• Chest tube insertion
• Needle decompression
• X-ray and EKG interpretation
• Conscious/deep sedation
• Circumcision
• Other pediatric procedures as required
