Inpatient CoderWe are seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with strong AHIMA credentials and extensive inpatient coding experience in Academic/Trauma Level 1 facilities. The ideal candidate will accurately assign ICD codes, ensure coding compliance, and maintain high productivity and quality standards.Role and Responsibilities:Review medical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.Query physicians to clarify diagnoses and procedures when necessary.Utilize electronic encoder applications following coding guidelines and regulations.Perform peer reviews of coding audits and coders.Maintain a minimum coding accuracy of 98% while meeting productivity standards.Prepare reports and ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.Work collaboratively with managers and team members while adapting to changing procedures.Required Skills:Inpatient Coding (IP)ICD-10-CM/PCSAPR DRGMedical Record ReviewPhysician Query ProcessElectronic EncoderAHIMA Credentials (CCS/RHIT/RHIA)MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Coding ComplianceAcademic/Trauma Level 1 Hospital ExperienceQualifications:Minimum 6 years of overall coding experience.At least 3 years of inpatient coding experience in an Academic/Trauma Level 1 facility.AHIMA credential (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) required.Experience coding all inpatient service lines.Knowledge of federal, state, and payer regulations.Ability to interpret medical records and work independently.Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Must pass coding assessment with 80% or higher.
