With a second manufacturing facility in Elyria, OH, Shalmet also provides rebuilding and re-engineering of customer machines. Shalmet was acquired by Carpenter Technology Corporation in 1997 and operates within the corporations Specialty Alloys Operations division./pp1 Position available Afternoon Evening Shift Coverage (subject to change)/ppLocation: Elyria, OH/ppWage Range: Starting wage rate is $34.87 per hour with opportunities for advancement./pp$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS (for external hires only)/ppMaintenance candidates hired at Shalmet will receive $2,500 upon successful completion of 6 months of employment and an additional $2,500 upon successful completion of 9 months of employment. (Note: Maintenance trainee positions are not eligible for sign-on bonuses.)/ppPer Policy: Unless approved by Management, employees are limited to successfully bid on no more than 2 positions in a 12-month period. Other bidding restrictions may apply./ppPrimary Duties:/pulliTo inspect, test, calibrate, repair, install, fabricate, construct, adjust, lubricate, maintain, dismantle and clean all mechanical equipment working in conjunction with other production and maintenance personnel./liliOperate mobile equipment/liliOperate overhead crane and follow movement of material/liliUse required tools and equipment/liliTroubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical problems/liliDo basic metal fabrication/liliDo pipe fitting / plumbing/li/ulpRequirements:/pulliA resume outlining qualifications and experience must be submitted to be considered for this position./liliMust pass testing for related trade./liliTechnical trade school, or related college field preferred. Two years industrial maintenance experience required./liliHigh School diploma or GED required./liliOvertime, if requested, is required./liliCandidates will be expected to gain additional qualifications to progress through the various levels of their skilled trade as described in associated Position Requirements Records./liliRead, write and understand instructions/liliUse basic math for measuring and required calculations/liliRead and interpret mechanical blueprints/liliPossess knowledge of:/liulliGeneral maintenance procedures/liliGeneral safety procedures including ARC Flash, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work permit, etc./liliMechanical components and trade terminology/liliProper installation of mechanical components/liliSafe rigging and lifting methods/liliBasic carpentry/liliOxy / acetylene setups and proper burning practices/liliBasic welding skills/liliBasic computer skills/liliWork order system/li/ulliAchieve forklift, crane, high lift certifications/liliComplete confined space training/li/ulpSelection Process:/ppTo be considered, all candidates must submit a resume./ppMust pass testing for related trade./ppFor any internal candidates, the successful candidate will be chosen based on: skills and experience, current job performance, including attendance, and interview results.
