Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

Job Description

Resident Field Service Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) – Dallas, TX
$35–$45/hr + Overtime + Company Service Truck
️ Field-Based | Monday–Friday | Travel Included

Tired of the same old shop work?

If you’re a hands-on mechanic who’d rather be out in the field working on big equipment instead of stuck inside, this is worth a look.

We’re hiring a Resident Field Service Mechanic in the Dallas area to work on large industrial grinding and chipping equipment. This is real heavy-duty work — hydraulics, electrical, and troubleshooting on machines that actually test your skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial heavy equipment on-site
• Work with hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Travel to customer locations (some overnight, occasional international)
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
• Communicate directly with customers — no middle layers

What You’ll Get

• $35–$45/hour (based on experience)
• Overtime available
• Fully outfitted service truck (take-home)
• Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) — you own a piece of the company
• 401k + full benefits package
• Paid training (2 weeks in Minnesota)
• Ongoing support — you won’t be thrown to the wolves

Schedule

• Monday–Friday (day shift)
• Travel required (regional + occasional international)

What They’re Looking For

• Experience in heavy equipment, diesel, ag, or similar industries
• Strong skills in hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting
• Comfortable working independently in the field
• CDL B preferred (or willingness to get it)
• Valid driver’s license & ability to travel (passport is a plus)

Equipment You’ll Work On

• Large-scale industrial grinders & chippers
• Powered by Caterpillar engines (minimal engine teardown work)

Why This Job Stands Out

• Employee-owned company (you benefit when the company does well)
• No micromanagement — trusted to do your job
• Variety of work — no two days look the same
• Backed by a solid team (~120 employees, not a corporate machine)

Apply Now

If you can troubleshoot, turn a wrench, and handle yourself in the field, this is a strong opportunity to step into a well-paid, independent role with good equipment and real support.
