Operating Room Registered Nurse

Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) RN PositionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring 2+ years of experience and confidence performing open heart and vascular cases. Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting. Unit averages 6 cases per day including open heart surgery and vascular cases. Weekday shift from 06:00-15:30. Weekend call required. 13-week assignment.Requirements:Active RN license (SC or Compact) currently in handCurrent certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA onlyMinimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience requiredMust be able to perform open heart and vascular surgery cases with confidenceNursys license verification required within 30 days of startPrimary source verification of license/certificate requiredAdditional information:Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic dataDelegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of other team members while executing urgent or emergent interventionsComplete Safe Surgery checklist verification per service excellence standardsPrep operating room and position patients for proceduresPerform circulating duties efficiently while assisting in control and maintenance of supplies and equipmentServe as communication liaison between the surgical team and patient's familyWillingly participate in assigned on-call scheduleMaintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
