Lab Associate I – Arcadia, CA – Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with rotational weekends Pay range: $22.35 – $24.45 per hour. Eligible for up to 10% shift differential on second shift hours and up to 15% on third shift hours. Salary offers based on skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Successful candidates may receive an annual performance bonus. Benefits Information Day 1 medical, supplemental health, dental & vision for full‑time employees working 30+ hours Best‑in‑class well‑being programs Annual no‑cost health assessment program “Blueprint for Wellness” healthyMINDS mental health program Vacation and Health/Flex Time 6 holidays plus one “MyDay” off FinFit financial coaching and services 401(k) pre‑tax and/or Roth IRA with company match up to 5% after 12 months of service Employee stock purchase plan Life and disability insurance, with buy‑up option Flexible Spending Accounts Annual incentive plans Matching gifts program Education assistance through MyQuest for Education Career advancement opportunities and so much more Responsibilities Prepare and organize samples for testing (sample racking, aliquoting, tube preparation) Label, handle, process or prepare, and transport and store specimens Identify sample problems and resolve or report appropriately Prepare testing equipment and assist with preventive maintenance; notify technical staff of equipment problems Assist licensed personnel (CA only) or delegated supervisor (non‑CA) in pre‑analytic and post‑analytic testing activities (excluding trainees) in a licensed clinical laboratory Prepare pre‑analytical reagents and controls using automated or fixed‑volume measuring devices; submit documentation for approval Maintain complete and accurate records of reagents or media using established procedures, formulas, stock solutions, and fixed‑volume measuring devices Maintain inventory of consumables (reagents and supplies); order, unpack, log, date, and store upon receipt; rotate stock; restock benches and equipment inventory Sort and accession incoming specimens into the appropriate LIS, then deliver to designated testing Perform data entry or transcribe data from recorded results to the computer for reduction and prepare for licensed personnel’s review Tally workload data and prepare reports as requested Assist in the performance of quality control procedures Prepare protocols, logs, or other appropriate documents Identify specimen problems and resolve or elevate appropriately to licensed personnel (CA only) or supervisor (non‑CA) Answer phones, transfer, or take accurate messages while maintaining confidentiality of client information Help ensure laboratory areas are neat, clean, and organized Comply with all health and safety policies, procedures, and practices; use personal protective equipment as required Other duties as assigned. This list is not exhaustive; it is a general description of work performed by the position Qualifications Required Work Experience Basic knowledge of operating non‑complex equipment Preferred Work Experience 1–2 years of laboratory experience Physical And Mental Requirements Normal performance may require lifting and carrying objects: 1–10 lbs frequently; 11–25 lbs occasionally; 26–50 lbs seldom; objects >50 lbs require assistance Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods Good eye‑hand coordination Knowledge Working knowledge of reagent stability and storage A awareness of the factors that influence test results Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong typing skills desirable Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with management, co‑workers, and clients Other automation skills helpful Education High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Some college courses (two to three years) preferred Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative, San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, and the California Fair Chance Act.
