Lead the craft of precision as our CMM Quality Inspection Supervisor About Accurate Marking & Manufacturing (AM&M)

A day in this role

You arrive to review the day’s production priorities across production, maintenance, tooling, safety, and quality teams. You brief your inspectors, set assignments, and jump onto a Mitutoyo CMM to verify a complex, tight-tolerance feature. Before lunch, you mentor a teammate on first-article inspection (FAI) techniques aligned to AS9102. In the afternoon, you audit in-process checks on the shop floor, document a nonconformance, and collaborate with machining to implement a corrective action. You close the day by finalizing reports and confirming compliance with ISO/AS standards—then capture a few ideas to improve throughput tomorrow.

What you will lead and do

• Direct, coach, and schedule the inspection team; train on procedures and best practices.
• Program and operate both manual and CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for dimensional verification.
• Interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure parts meet requirements.
• Leverage advanced metrology tools—micrometers, calipers, gauges, Mitutoyo optical comparator—and CMM software.
• Execute first-article, in-process, and final audits with complete traceability.
• Capture and disposition nonconformances; partner with operations on corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain meticulous records and author inspection reports aligned to ISO 9001 and AS9100 expectations.
• Champion safety, organization, and continuous improvement across the inspection function.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of inspection experience in manufacturing with strong manual and CNC CMM expertise.
• Proven leadership—team supervision, mentoring, and work assignment.
• Exceptional detail orientation and organization for high-precision work.
• Fluency in print reading and metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS).
• High school diploma or equivalent; ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (or similar) preferred.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
• Safety- and quality-first mindset in a fast-moving environment.
