Key facts Location: St. George, South Carolina Engagement: Office Employees Salary: Competitive, based on experience Visa: Sponsorship available for qualified candidates What you'll do Develop and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct thorough inspections and audits of mechanical components and systems to identify defects or areas for improvement. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to establish quality benchmarks and ensure adherence to specifications throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze data from quality control tests and inspections to identify trends and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics and present findings to management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making. Train and mentor team members on quality assurance best practices and the importance of maintaining high standards in all aspects of work. Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and develop action plans to prevent recurrence. Stay updated on industry advancements and regulatory changes to ensure that Bkimechanical remains compliant and competitive in the market. Assist in the development of quality-related documentation, including manuals, procedures, and training materials. Foster a culture of quality within the organization by promoting awareness and understanding of quality standards among all employees. Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure that materials and components meet quality specifications before they are integrated into projects. Support project managers in quality planning and execution to ensure that quality objectives are met on time and within budget. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the mechanical engineering sector. Strong understanding of quality management systems and methodologies, such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma. Proven experience in conducting audits and inspections, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey quality standards and findings to diverse audiences. Proficiency in using quality management software and tools for data analysis and reporting. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices is highly desirable. Nice to have Certification in Quality Management or Quality Engineering (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer). Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement techniques. Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a quality assurance context. Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the mechanical engineering industry. Skills & tools Quality management software (e.g., Minitab, QPulse) Statistical analysis tools Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) CAD software familiarity is a plus Inspection and testing equipment (calipers, gauges, etc.) This position is based in St. George, South Carolina, and requires a commitment to working in an office environment. The role may involve occasional travel to project sites or supplier facilities for inspections and audits. Candidates must be willing to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
