Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent telemetry or comparable acute-care Registered Nurse experience
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required for submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent experience caring for patients with stroke, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
• Experience with cardiac and anticoagulation drips required; familiarity with Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, and heparin is beneficial
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Ability to provide care within scope when floating to ICU, medical-surgical, or emergency department boarding assignments

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to telemetry patients in an 18-bed acute-care unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize clinical changes, and communicate findings promptly to the care team
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization, including femoral and radial access procedures
• Support the care of patients with stroke, heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias
• Administer and monitor prescribed medications and cardiac or anticoagulation drips in accordance with unit protocols
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, documentation, and care coordination using MEDITECH
• Collaborate with monitor technicians, nurse aides, respiratory therapy, providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Participate in unit scheduling expectations, including every-other-weekend coverage and holiday rotation
• Provide care within scope when assigned to ICU, medical-surgical, or emergency department boarding patients
