Human Resources Technician

Overview City of Claremont is seeking an enthusiastic Human Resources Technician to join a collaborative and innovative Human Resources team. The role focuses on mentoring, professional growth, and partnership across a wide range of HR programs. Responsibilities Support full‑cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, applicant communication, testing, interviews, and onboarding. Assist with employee benefits administration and respond to employee questions. Support workers’ compensation and leave administration processes. Maintain HRIS and personnel records while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy. Prepare reports, correspondence, and employment documents. Assist with classification and compensation studies, employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and special projects. Provide exceptional customer service to employees, supervisors, applicants, and the public. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance service delivery. Experience and Education Education: Any combination of education and training demonstrating the ability to effectively perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is a Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; a Bachelor’s degree is desirable. Experience: Two (2) years of clerical, administrative, or technical experience, preferably in a human resources or public sector environment. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
