Location: Cornerstone CS – San Antonio, TX Position: Cook Job Type: Full-Time / Temp-to-Perm Schedule: Monday – Friday, approximately 40 hours per week Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to work at Cornerstone CS in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity for a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced food service environment and takes pride in preparing quality meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

The ideal candidate will have previous cooking or food service experience, be reliable, work well as part of a team, and be able to follow established recipes, portioning guidelines, and sanitation procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, measuring, and portioning food items.
• Operate grills, ovens, fryers, steamers, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area.
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products.
• Assist with food preparation for upcoming meals and service periods.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Restock food, supplies, and cooking stations as needed.
• Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, counters, and preparation areas.
• Follow proper procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Work closely with kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient meal service.
• Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous cook, kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, or food service experience preferred.
• Must have a current Food Handler Certificate.
• Must be able to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive kitchen duties.
• Ability to safely lift and carry food products, supplies, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment as required.
• Must be willing to complete all required pre-employment screening.
