Coding Quality Educator
University of Virginia
The Coding Quality Educator is a fully remote role at UVA Health that combines advanced surgical coding expertise with education and provider consultation. The position focuses on managing professional billing audits, delivering individualized coding education to physicians, and serving as a subject matter expert for assigned specialties, particularly Neurosurgery. This is a move from production coding into a consultative role emphasizing quality, documentation integrity, and provider partnership.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required
- 5 years of coding experience in a tertiary setting preferred
- Substantial surgical coding experience; Neurology or Neurosurgery coding experience especially desirable
- Strong research capabilities and ability to translate complex coding guidance for clinical audiences
- Experience in auditing, education, quality, compliance, or coding advisory work
- Effective presentation and communication skills with providers and clinical leaders
