Speech Advisor Position Type: Athletics/Activities Date Posted: 11/13/2025 Location: Chisholm High School, Chisholm, Minnesota INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 695, Chisholm, Minnesota Job Description Chisholm Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech Advisor to lead the high school speech team. The advisor will guide students in developing communication, presentation, and performance skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, and excellence in competition. Responsibilities Organize and conduct regular speech team practices. Coach students in various speech categories (e.g., informative speaking, persuasive speaking, dramatic interpretation, poetry, storytelling). Coordinate participation in local, regional, and state tournaments. Manage competition registrations, travel, and event logistics. Promote a positive, inclusive, growth‑oriented team environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Background in speech, communications, or theatre desirable. Prior coaching or competitive speech experience preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to student development and extracurricular excellence.
