Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN Circulator with ophthalmology experience and a WV or compact RN license for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in West Virginia.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an OR environment with 6 surgical suites averaging 22 cases per day
• Common cases include ophthalmology procedures (scleral buckle, vitrectomy, corneal transplants, cataracts), minor general surgery, minor spine stabilization, spinal cord stimulators, ENT, and dental procedures
• Day shift, Monday–Friday, with 8-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM; late shifts may be required to complete cases past 3:15 PM
• A minimum of 1 weekday call shift per week is required with a 30-minute response time
• Up to every other weekend of call required with a 30-minute response time
• Holiday call rotation required with a 30-minute response time
• Floating to other surgical departments may be required
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulator experience required
• Ophthalmology OR experience is required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position

Additional Information

• Hospital orientation provided followed by unit-specific orientation in the One Day Surgery (ODS) building with staff
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Self-scheduling is not available; scheduling is assigned
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative year must also take a 2-year break before returning
• A driver's license and copies of certifications are required for consideration
• Two references are required: one supervisor reference and one peer or additional supervisor reference (e.g., Charge RN)
