Registered Nurse

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The nurse will work in a short-term acute care setting with a focus on medical patients. The shift is a night shift consisting of 12-hour shifts. The nurse is required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the nursing field. There will be a patient ratio of 1 nurse to 6 patients. The nurse will float within their scope to meet facility needs. Weekend work is required every other weekend. The patient population includes individuals with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, and cancer patients not currently receiving chemotherapy. The unit does not care for surgical patients. Special procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and simple suture/debridement. Nurses must have experience with telemetry and management of dysrhythmias. All nurses are required to complete training modules before starting. Additional qualifications include experience with various nursing skills, including blood product administration, central line management, and IV placement. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams, including pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services. The position requires a commitment to excellent patient care and teamwork. Flexibility in scheduling is essential due to the nature of the unit's needs.
